* Pucky is without Tony Granato this weekend.....TG is coaching Team USA in a tournament in Germany.... this is a tryout for the USA Olympic Team.....remember, no NHL players in these Olympics because of labor issues between the owners & players.... Robbie Earl & Tom Gilbert are on the USA team (they're playing professionally in Europe)...and Bourque is playing on Team Canada

Christian Krygier, defenseman, playing for Lincoln (USHL) ...excellent recruit .... has a twin brother Cole who is also expected to sign but maybe not until next year.... the twins are considered excellent NHL prospects....their dad played in the NHL
* Sampo Ranta....forward, from Finland ...playing for Sioux City (USHL).... extreme skill; huge, huge get who will be a big time scorer as a freshman
* Dominic Mersch, forward, Lincoln (USHL)...his brother was a Badger....
* Daniel Lebedeff, goalie, from Finland & is playing for Janesville (NAHL)...had a rough year for the Madison Capitals last year but is playing much better this year ...projected NHL draft choice
* USA NTDP U18 defenseman Ty Emberson (from Eau Claire, turned down the Gophers) & K'Andre Miller are expected to sign after returning from an overseas World Junior tournament (Finland?)... both are projected NHL draft choices, Miller is rated #14 by hockeyprospects.com
* Mick Messner, forward, from Madison who is playing for Madison (USHL) is also expected to sign
* #1 Puckyette beat #7 Cornell in Ithaca, NY earlier this afternoon 3-1 ....Mark Johnson's wrecking-crew is now 15-0-0 ....must feel like a breather this weekend after beating up on the #6 Gophers & #4 Ohio State the previous two weekends
