Espn scout.
Size-Strength-Speed
Tall prospect with good bulk and big frame that can support more good mass with time in a college weight program. Displays good strength though room to improve and adequate get-off.
Versus the Run
Demonstrates ability to come off with pad level and when he maintains good 'football position' and shoots hands can hold ground one-on-one, but needs to be more consistent. Pads can quickly rise and inconsistent with hands and when lets defenders into his frame can get caught up and pushed back and needs to add mass, strength and be more consistent with pad level as he faces bigger competition at college level.
Pass Rush Skills
Flashes ability to gain leverage with enough size and strength to generate some push with bull rush when stays low and needs to further develop use of power as pass rusher. Push can stall due to pads rising. Tall player that can disrupt throwing lanes and knock down passes when gets hands up, which he flashes he will do.
Toughness/Motor
Can be physical player willing to bang pads and capable of delivering a good pop, but not consistent in using size and doesn't always look like same player in terms of physicality. Gives good effort with ability to cover some ground in pursuit once on track.
Bottom Line
Vopal is an interesting prospect. Tall, big framed kid that could project to DE, DT as well as OT. An argument could be made that his abilities can better be utilized on offense and that he possesses greater upside as an OL and it should not at all be surprising if he ends up at OT. He is utilized on offense for his high school, more in a blocking TE role and can use his size to wall off defenders, but to be successful on offense which could allow him to have more of an impact, he will need to buy into that role. As a defensive lineman good size and shows flashes and could develop into solid contributor. On either side of the all we don't see an early contributor, but as he focuses on football a big man with some upside, arguably though, more so on offense.
