Out of curiosity if the following were to happen would we be awarded our First Playoff appearance?
#1. We win vs the Gophers and Ohio State
#2. LSU beats Georgia in SEC Championship
#3. Baylor loses to Kansas then Beats Oklahoma in Big 12 championship
#4. Oregon St. beats Oregon in rivalry game, then Oregon beats Utah in Pac 12 Championship game
#5. Virginia/Virginia Tech pull off upset vs Clemson
#6. Auburn defeats Alabama
(I didn't list a Florida St upset over a loss Florida team because I figured we would trump a 2 loss Florida with our end of the year wins over 2 top 10 teams)
I am not saying everything above would have to happen but pretty much most of the above would have to happen.
The way our Defense has been tackling lately, being out of position on gap responsibilities, and turning the ball over carelessly on Offense I know we don't deserve a top 4 spot. That being said it is usually all about what have you done for me lately and a strong impression can be made the next 2 weeks.
Would be interesting to see what the committee were to do if we did beat Ohio St and some of the other current top seeds stumble.
