As we all remember, when Andersen left the football team, Barry had a "short list" of coaches lined up. He also said that he had several phone calls from high caliber coaches that were interested in coming to Wisconsin. Im not sure we ever really found out who all called Barry, but I am wondering if the same thing is happening in BBall.
I am wondering what the chances are of a bigger name coach calling Barry and really wanting this Wisconsin job. We have unbelievable facilities, a great city, great school, great fans. But also, we are in a very close proximity to Chicago... Northwestern and Illinois have a tough time getting the best players out of the Chicago area.
What are everyones thoughts on:
A. do you think any big name coaches are calling Barry?
B. Is this an appropriate time, coming off a final 4, to go big, try and get a great coach and someone who can get elite players out of Chicago, etc...?? Maybe get the top wisconsin players to stay home
Bo built the program to a national level, maybe its time to build on that instead of stay the same.
