I think after losing to Iowa nad NW last year , when we were better and our defense could have shut them down, he probably had a hard to hard with the AD and he "GOT" that you don't let the QB, the Stave, the Horni, the Houston take chances and lose games that you can win by playing Barry Ball.
That being said, the fact that WHeelwright didn't develop into a go to SENIOR WR didn't help either.
Bottomline: we beat everybody in the west with this style and were ahead 28-7 before the bottom fell out.
I don't see Chryst as the offensive genius some accuse him of being but he's competent and good enough to win with.
In the end RECRUTING was the difference.
We lost to the three teams in the BIG TEN who recruit much better than us.
The differences in athleticism at Receiver and DB were insurmountable.
I can't blame Chryst.
