Professional Golf has a regular tour stop in Madison with American Family Insurance ponying up the jack as the primary sponsor....excellent!
Even with the recent renovations I think the geezers will eat this track for lunch..... for example, the par 5's will all be reachable & I suspect there will be lots of eagles ....If it was up to me I'd change #2 from a par 5 to a par 4...
the key will be getting the greens greasy-fast & growing the rough.... this has been a problem in the past because the University placed too much value on maximizing their golf outing business and wouldn't compromise when U-Ridge hosted the Big Ten Men's Championship (Jeff Overton won with something like 19-under for 3 rounds) & the NCAA Women's Championship
Infrastructure will be another problem....they can use the Badgers cross country facility for parking but the traffic at the "M" & "PD" intersection area is already challenging at times
