I know this is a business and the coaches that left have made the correct financial decision. With Aranda and now Wilcox, they were here a short period of time and then got picked up elsewhere for more money.... In wilcox's case, even if we would have paid him a bit more he still would have left because he got a head coaching job.
Im just wondering where this D-coordinator leaving cycle ends..
Do we have to have a bad year???? other teams look at wisconsin, who doesnt have the top recruits typically, but have success, and they think they can take our coaches and have equal success.
Now, UW is having success with the 3-4...
Are there an unlimited number of 3-4 coaches that we can just plug in and have success?
Does the coach even really matter that much or do we just have an elite group of guys coming throught?

If you think about it, we have gotten pretty great players all coming through at the same time... I am sure Biegle will be a good pro... we had a watt brother.... Cichy is another elite in state guy, those players dont come around too often, same with biegle. Edwards is maybe our most locked in to be a pro on the roster next year for UW...

I guess my question is this: Are these coaches just making huge pay increases and getting better jobs because we have such a talented group right now?? Or have we really had just exceptional coaching... part of me was worried after Aranda left, but it didnt really matter. Is wilcox really that good? He didnt do much for USC.

We need a guy like Chryst who wants to be a badger for life... treat him fair and he will stay.

Hell, Leonard already made his money in the NFL, maybe if we show him respect and bump him up to D-coordinator he wont be tempted by other jobs.. I know the leonard family and they are small town people, his brother plays in small wood bat leagues up north against some of my friends every summer. Point being, I think Jim is happy where he is at here in Wisconsin and just wants to be around the game and with the Badgers... He has some time watching how the 3-4 works under wilcox. Plus he was basically a coach on the field in the NFL.. you cant tell me he isnt qualified.. people will say he is young or whatever, but when you have 10 years of experience in the nfl as a guy who made a living being an on the field coach and just knowing the game inside and out (with a ton of athletic ability of course), you are qualified to teach college kids how to play

Why continue to hire guys that are going to bolt if we have any type of success?
