I'm honestly asking the hoops heads and the guys who are connected to the program - why does Bo coach the guys to defend a ball screen the way he does?

I've talked to lots of basketball people, including a college coach, who have asked the same thing. Most teams in both college and the pros hedge the ball screen hard and force the ballhandler to retreat. They also will go under screens for guys who they don't mind allowing a semi-contested 3. The Badgers seem to play it halfway, with the screener's man not showing hard. I think it has the effect at times that the Badger big seals the Badger guard and the ballhandler jets past the big and into the lane.

I know Bo has a method for everything, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows why he coaches it this way.
