We've had our offensive struggles but I think the main problem of the basketball team is it lacks players that can defend.
Bo had teams that were poor offensively. But he won with those teams because they would always defend well. For the most part, they'd play good perimeter defense and collapse on the ball with good anticipation. And then they'd rebound the heck out of missed shots. Certainly a few studs have gone off for great games but we'd hold the rest of the teams in check and pull out the victory.
With this team, I see guys not anticipating well and missing their assignments. I see a player overhelping another that's beaten, causing the extra pass and an easy score for the opponent. The easy baskets are killing us.
I see the greatest jump from now to the end of the season is on defense. If Gard can get them to play better positional defense, we could still upset some teams in the B10.
