The rundown: The Badgers have been one of the more consistent big-time programs in the country over the last couple of decades, so this really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Still, the fact that the Badgers have produced more first-round picks than any other Big Ten program since 2011 still caught our attention. J.J. Watt is obviously the name that will first come up for the Badgers, and rightfully so, but the Badgers have also produced three first-round offensive linemen over the last five years. Their production also helpedMelvin Gordon become one of only six running backs picked in the first round during this time.

Farrell’s take: Over the last 20 years it’s hard to argue with Wisconsin when it comes to producing offensive line talent although in recent years the Aggies (below) have been even more productive. Having the NFL’s best and most famous player can’t hurt recruiting and I’ve seen a step up in recruiting skill talent since Paul Chryst has taken over.
