Maybe this is too picky, but I have always noticed that there is very little “human” interaction between Gard and the players during the game a la Izzo or Painter for example. When players come to the bench he seems most of the time to ignore them. Never a hug, or joke, or some kind of spontaneous instruction. In my experience in sports and coaching, think it matters, including relaxing players some so they don’t shoot 35% or not score the last 3 minutes of every game. Am I being too critical?
