I haven't been madly in love with Izayah as an OLB recruit, mostly because I didn't think he showed elite speed, just solid speed and he's tall and almost skinny, along with the fact I didn't think he got off the snap very well with those long legs but he's starting to grow on me.
He seems to have a propensity for getting those long arms up in the passing lanes, has good reactions there and on those blocked kicks which I always view as a good player, since anticipation, timing and smarts are needed to block a kick.
Additionally, those i stil lthink he needs to get out of the blocks better, he seems to make up for it by getting faster and faster as he goes to the QB, his closing speed could genrate the sacks..
Really think a good college strength & conditioning program can make the difference and maybe he didn't have more offers becuase he's a bit physically immature.That, along with the fact we won't need him for 3 years, until Baun and this year's FROSH are leaving and he looks like he can help a LOT on specials in the meantime, makes him a nice piece in this class.
