Poise...Hornibrook is exceptionally...wierdly calm. On the fumble in the pocket he lost the ball because he was just ignoring the pocket collapse. Even as the ball was being recovered I was thinking this kids going to be good. No dancing excited feet, no urgency. On passes where he was pressured the ball was still delivered accurately. Not saying he doesn't have awareness, against GSU he ran though his progressions and threw the all away. Something Bart refused to do.
He's thrown 3 perfect flag patterns at 20-25 yards in a window with 3 defenders. Once he reads the high safety the ball comes out away and over flat defender. Its a difficult window and he never hesitates. This is how you beat tough man coverage and convert long 3rd downs.
He throws the type of ball I'd like to catch. It has tight spin and looks soft to catch. Some have compare him to Penniston, I'd say it's Dan Fouts like. His placement is chest high and infront which leads to YAC( this was my primary complaint with Stave). Its the type of pass that seems so easy to catch, that he'll have less drops. He doesnt have great velocity but, seems to have enough to get it there on time.
