As noted two games ago, he looks like he's taken the next step in his development. I remember in some of the games last year where he looked a bit lost in the pocket and hit the freshman wall.

He was still telegraphing his passes quite a bit early in the year.
But the light turned on in the Iowa game and he looked like Stocco in his junior year.

The greatest asset is his ability to throw the ball on time. Well covered receivers have a chance to snag the ball over DBs with the back turned. How many times have we seen that this year? We certainly didn't see a whole lot of that with Bart Houston nor Stave, did we? It's Hornibrook's mental capacity, knowledge and recognition of where the defenses are vulnerable, especially man defenses.

He's also fearless and has no memory of bad plays that transpired. If his read is good, he'll throw the ball in there despite a small window. Not surprisingly, his QB rating has jumped from 125.8 last year to 155.9. That's a marked improvement. His 3rd down stats (155.8 QB rating on 3rd down) are impressive for a young sophomore.

Chryst has done an excellent job of teaching Horni the finer nuances of playing QB. Huge kudos to Chryst, the QB whisperer.
