And outside of a few INTs, I think we've gotten what we need from Hornibrook...and I'm not so sure some of those INTs are completely on him.
Take Nebraska - People will argue that was on Hornibrook. However, the play was designed to go to the front side of the formation. Hornibrook came back to his check down on the short side of the field where there should have been fewer defenders and an easy throw every time. However, we had a receiver who seemingly didn't get the proper route depth (seemingly because I doubt we typically have a receiver and the check down in the flat on the backside of a play) allowing the deep third defender to sit on the route.
Take the first INT against Purdue - Millen said it was 100% on Hornibrook which means to me, it most likely WASN'T on Hornibrook (LOL). After the play, you can see Hornibrook talk to Davis about the route and it appeared Hornibrook was explaining to him why he put the ball where he did and showing Davis where he should have been.
My point isn't to totally exonerate Hornibrook. He put the ball up and so he has to be on the hook for the INT. However, I don't think it is all on him. We need everyone to be doing their job.
