Schobert Stave, Ogunbowale and Erickson are all former walk-ons.
Schobert is a stud who was amazingly under-recruited. The other guys just simply should not be counted on as key players on offense.
I've said it before, but this year was going to be a valley (or low-water mark) year for the Badgers so far this century. Two coaching regime changes in four seasons was destined to bite us. If you combine that with injury attrition and Gar's nonqualifiers, you have serious holes on the roster. You also have players playing too early for a developmental program.
There's just no way you're going to coach up a team with walkons at the offensive skill positions and 3 freshmen starting on the o-line to beat physically-oriented teams.
We're lucky that the defense is good this year, otherwise we could be looking at another 2001 season. Thankfully this defense won't give up 63 points to Indiana at home like that team...
