This is more of a question than a statement. It seems as though the point of the 3-4 is to close the gaps up front with the 3 lineman, and then have Linebackers hanging back in the remaining gaps, and pretty much going unblocked, when our RB goes through the line. Or of course the Linebackers can blitz the QB through those remaining gaps.
My questions are:
Will be get enough push against a 3-4 so even if we dont get the big run, we will get 3-5 yards before the linebackers can stop our push?
Do we utilize a FB and send him through the gaps to block the Linebacker?

It just seems like it will be hard to get a big run against a 3-4 if LSU's Linebackers just hang back a little and are unblocked. Im wondering what our run game scheme will be. If we can pound the front 3 of their defense we may be able to get a few yards on each run if our OL is strong enough.

Any ideas of opinions?
