I listened to Lucas and Dawson yesterday and they had Howard Moore as a guest. I felt like he had very good answers when talking about Nigel that made sense.
They asked him how Nigel was doing with his NBA workouts, combine. Howard said Nigel is kind of out of his element in this setting. He would stand on the perimeter waiting for a pass, spreading the court etc.. But in this setting its mostly high ball screens and driving to the basket, not what he is used to.
He also said he feels its best for Nigel to try to model his game after Draymond Green if he wants to play in the NBA. Apparently every team is looking for a Draymond Green. Not only that, but they are looking for players who can GUARD Draymond green. Big enough not to get pushed around, yet fast enough to stay with him on a drive.
I thought Moore had some good insight that made a lot of sense. Overall, Nigel should come back for sure, which we know. But I hope he does watch some film on Daymond and uses this off season and next year to try and match what he does on the court. Keep working on shooting obviously, but maybe work on being more aggressive, being more tough and physical, work on his speed and just overall play with more energy. Keep working on his inside game with less settling for 3's
If he can mold his game after Green, I think he has a chance at the next level because everyone is trying to find that guy.
