I've been one of the critical voices against Gard. I think he has to share the blame for the lack of development of his bigs, the failures in the 2018 recruiting class, and lack of winning game planning in many of the early BIG games this year. Having said that.... This team did not fold down the stretch, Happ became a leader that the team needed in a big way, Iverson, Pritzl, and Happ all got better as the year went on. And maybe most importantly, he seems to be one of the few coaches who aren’t going to be mired down in some of these investigations.....I hope he hits that message home with recruits this offseason.
I’m not sold on Gard being the long term answer....but I also think he deserves more time driving the bus.
