I have been leary on Gard as the next coach of Wisconsin since Bo mentioned it during his first retirement announcement. I guess my issue was why programs like UWGB would interview him and then go in a different direction. But watching this team play the last 8-10 games has convinced me he can do the job. I like how well the team has played defensively since he took over, I like that Wisconsin moves the ball better than the other team, I like the development of the younger players, I like how other than Yogi Farrell, Gard has devised a scheme to take away the opposing teams best player. Bottom line is Gard can coach, and I'm on board.
Also, if Hayes returns next year, the hardest job for next year's coach may be deciding minutes as both AVV and Pritzl offer skills this team could use. By my count that may be 11 guys looking for playing time, 12 if you count Moesch.
