Something with VandenBoom does not sound right. NCAA rules would not allow him to be put on scholarship starting 2nd semester unless:
1. He grey shirts, does not start as a full time student until Jan, which would not allow him to participate in fall camp or any practices that fall semester.
2. If a walk on is put on scholarship in the first 2 years, he counts against the number of scholarships available back to his first semester in school. So are they banking a scholarship for one semester.
This does not make sense and I believe there has to be more to the story.
