Badgers open the season with a game on Labor Day weekend. Great idea; nothing else for people to do that weekend.
And let's play one of them "directional schools" no one cares about that everyone expects us to beat by 35 or more points.
And let's start the game at 8:00 so anyone outside of walking distance of CR can battle traffic at midnight on the way back to residential suburbs. And god help anyone coming from further out of town (say the greater Milwaukee area) who should plan on getting home around 2:30-3:00 AM Saturday since all the hotels that aren't flooded by recent downpours are booked up with 10,000 or so Epic Systems User Group people.
And let's make it really fun by scheduling simultaneous road construction on virtually EVERY major road into Madison: Including East Wash., Verona Road/Midvale Blvd., Highway M. etc. That should slow things down to a crawl.
And just for laughs, let's close off Monroe Street, (which leads directly to the stadium) completely so Regent Street, University Ave., et al become virtually impassible.
Maybe the geniuses in city planning and the University people should have a luncheon where they can all introduce themselves. They can hold it at Epic's massive new auditorium, which is about the only indoor space large enough to hold that many bureaucrats outside of the Kohl Center, which is too difficult for them to get to because of all the construction.
Let's the games begin!
