The TEs have been performing pretty well this year or at least on the receiving end. Turner was probably one of the more questionable assistants Chryst hired on as he had little experience. I haven't paid much attention to their blocking as the OL has been pretty bad and understandably so with youth and injuries, so it has been hard for me to gauge if the TEs are holding up their end of things when it comes to blocking.
John, during fall camp did Rudy work a lot with the TEs? Or was Turner left alone to primarily work with them. I am guessing Rudy had some work with them as TE work with OL at times for blocking drills, etc. Practices in the season are closed to the media correct?
Traylor was having an awesome year and Fumagalli is limited athletically, but just seems to find a way to make a handful of plays every game. Steffes has even had some targets the past couple of weeks. I still don't think there is a TE on the roster that is same caliber athletically as a Beckhum, Kendricks, Daniels, Graham or even Pederson.
It would be nice to get a couple of good TEs in the 2017 class. Maybe Penniston develops into a high caliber player. Just seems the past few years a lot of the kids on the roster are the bigger/bulkier inline TEs. Really need to get some H-Back athletes. Maybe that kid from OH that is waiting for O$U offer eventually comes here and turns into H-Back.
