I know Wikipedia is not a true source of all material so maybe I will get clarification from as Steve Czaben puts it the throbbing brain.
So I looked up the origins of "On, Wisconsin!" And it turns out it was written by a UW student for Minnesota of all people and he changed it at the last minute. The original lyrics were "Minnesota, Minnesota" I feel conflicted here. Am I wrong? Another cool thing if Wikipedia is to be believed is that On Wisconsin was used as a rally cry for soldiers by Arthur MacArthur (douglass' dad) during the civil war.
