After Wisconsin rattled off eight-straight wins and captured a share of the Big Ten regular season title to end last season, national expectations figure to be high for the program heading into 2020-21. The Badgers return 78.5% of their minutes from last year, including four starters.

Since April, Wisconsin has appeared in a number of early preseason rankings: #4 The Athletic (Seth Davis), #5 Dick Vitale (ESPN), #5 Jon Rothstein (CBS Sports), #6 Jeff Goodman (Stadium), #6 Andy Katz (NCAA.com), #6 ESPN, #7 Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, #8 USA Today, #9 247 Sports, #10 Gary Parrish (CBS Sports), #12 NBC Sports, #14 Sports Illustrated.

Wisconsin’s highest debut in the AP Top 25 came in 2014 when the Badgers opened the season ranked No. 3. UW began its 2016 campaign ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP Top 25, the second-highest debut in program history.
