How does your team stack up, can they win it all?
Mine the Yankees probably have no chance to win a WS this season, we don't have enough pitching.
With the additions of Greg Bird 1b, Aaron Judge RF and Gary Sanchez C, Yankees have managed to rebuild the team without spending a bunch of year's in last place which i guess was a good thing.
The Didi Gregorious and Starlin Castro trades brought us two high end young veterans as a double play combo, they both hit 20 dingers each last season and both are in their 20's.
Additionally, the farm system is loaded with potential major leaguers both position players and Pitching prospects.
Salary-wise, after this season MOST of the money is off the books, we get out from under Sabathia and AROD and I would expect veterans like Chase Headley , Bret Gardner and Ellsbury to have bounce back seasons and probably will be traded along with some pitching when Yankees again become sellers after the All-Star break.
That, along with Tanaka and Pineda's contracts ending, will give Yankees their lowest payroll since George purchased the team LOL and going forward the Yankees do NOT want to be paying luxury tax, so we should see the youngsters stay with us and develop. That being said, Yankees will need to do a 3 youngsters for one good young Veteran pitcher type move because we're so deep in the minors, teams will again raid us in RULE V draft next off-season.
There's a chance Yankees can compete this season, we do have a great bullpen with Chapman and Betances among others and we might make the playoffs as a wildcard but Red Sox, frankly & sadly, look overpowering on paper.
