TEAM NOTES

·Today’s captains: senior OL Michael Deiter, senior S D’Cota Dixon, senior ILB T.J. Edwards and junior QB Alex Hornibrook.

·Today’s attendance: 80,720 (sellout)

·UW fell to 36-8 (.818) overall under fourth-year head coach Paul Chryst.

·The Badgers suffered just the fourth home loss in four seasons under Chryst. UW is 19-4 at Camp Randall Stadium with Chryst at the helm.

·The Badgers had their regular-season win streak snapped at 20 consecutive, dating back to 2016.

·Wisconsin lost for the first time in the last 42 non-conference games at home, snapping the fifth-longest streak by an FBS team in the modern era (since 1946). UW’s last non-conference loss at Camp Randall came in a 23-5 setback to UNLV on Sept. 13, 2003.

·The Badgers scored a touchdown (on a 2-yard run by Alec Ingold) with 1:17 left in the first half. Wisconsin has scored in the final 90 seconds of the first half in 21 of the 44 games in Paul Chryst’s 4 seasons as coach.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

·Junior QB Alex Hornibrook threw for 190 yards, giving him 4,501 career passing yards to rank 8th all-time at UW. Hornibrook passed Jim Sorgi (2000-03), who threw for 4,498.

·Hornibrook owns a 22-4 (.846) record as the Badgers’ starter, including a 12-2 mark at Camp Randall Stadium.

·Sophomore RB Jonathan Taylor finished with 117 yards rushing, topping the 100-yard mark for the 13th time in 17 career games.

·Senior RB Taiwan Deal scored a pair of touchdowns, the 7th and 8th of his career, on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and 5-yard run in the fourth quarter. It marked Deal’s 1st TDs since scoring twice vs. Minnesota on Nov. 21, 2015. He has recorded 4 multiple-TD games in his career.

·Sophomore RB Garrett Groshek totaled a career-high 74 yards from scrimmage (45 yards rushing and 29 yards receiving). He also hauled in a career-best 4 receptions.

·Senior FB Alec Ingold scored his 2nd rushing touchdown of the season on a 2-yard run in the 2nd quarter. Ingold has scored 16 total TDs on 95 career touches — averaging a TD every 5.9 touches.

·Redshirt freshman TE Jake Ferguson hauled in 3 catches for a career-high 61 yards.

·Senior NT Olive Sagapolu recorded his first sack of the season in the first quarter, the 5th of his career.

·Senior ILB Ryan Connelly led UW with 8 tackles, including one tackle for loss. He entered the game with 8 tackles in the first 2 games.

·Redshirt freshman CB Faion Hicks recorded a career-high 5 tackles and his third career pass break up.

·Sophomore CB Caesar Williams also tallied a career-high 5 tackles. He entered the game with 3 career tackles.

·Senior K Rafael Gaglianone saw his streak of 13 consecutive made field goals end with a missed FG from 42 yards out in the fourth quarter. His 13 consecutive made FGs was one shy of the school record — a mark that he first tied in 2014 and that was originally set by Vitaly Pisetsky in 1999.

·Junior P Anthony Lotti registered a career-long 63 yard punt in the first quarter. For the game, Lotti averaged 43.0 yards on 4 punts.

·Junior K Zach Hintze converted touchbacks on all 4 of his kickoffs. He has posted a touchback on 17 of his 19 kickoffs this esason (89.5%).
