TEAM NOTES

·Today’s captains: senior S D’Cota Dixon, senior TE Troy Fumagalli, senior S Natrell Jamerson and senior DEAlec James.

·Today’s attendance: 81,216

·The Badgers secured the outright Big Ten West Division championship. UW has won the West Division title in 3 of the first 4 years of the league’s current divisional alignment.

·Wisconsin extended the best start in school history to 11-0. The Badgers’ previous best starts were 9-0 marks in 1998 and 2004.

·The Badgers won an 11th game for the 2nd-consecutive season and the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons.

·The Badgers have won 12 straight games, dating back to their victory in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2, the second-longest active win streak of any FBS team behind only Miami (Fla.) (14 including Saturday’s win over UVA).

·UW’s 12-game win streak is the second-longest in school history:

·With records of 10-3, 11-3 and 11-0 in his first 3 seasons at the helm of his alma mater, Chryst joins Michigan’s Fielding Yost (1901-03) and Ohio State’s Urban Meyer (2012-14) as the only coaches in league history to win 10-plus games in each of their first 3 seasons.

·Wisconsin is 43-9 (.827) since the start of the 2014 season, trailing only Alabama (50-4, .926 entering Saturday), Clemson (46-6, .885 entering Saturday) and Ohio State (44-6, .880 entering Saturday) in wins and winning percentage among FBS programs in that span.

·Wisconsin won its 14th-consecutive Big Ten game, extending the longest conference win streak in school history. The Badgers previously won 9 straight league games across the 2006 and 2007 seasons and the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

·UW set a school record with its 8th Big Ten win of the season. The Badgers previously claimed 7 conference wins in 2016, 2014, 2010, 2006, 1999 1998.

·The Badgers are 34-7 (.829) in conference play over the last 5 seasons (2013-17). Only Ohio State (37-3, .925 entering Saturday) has a better league record over that span.

·Over the last 4 seasons, the Badgers are 18-2 in the month of November.

·Wisconsin’s senior class scored its 43rd win, extending its school record for the most wins in a four-year period.

·The Badgers recorded their fourth-consecutive win over Michigan at Camp Randall Stadium. UW has won 5 of the last 8 meetings overall.

·Nick Nelson became the 18th Badgers player to score a touchdown this season when he scored a 50-yard punt return TD in the first quarter.

·Michigan’s 1-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter broke the UW defense’s streak of 6 consecutive quarters (and 106:48 of game time) without allowing a score.

·When Michigan took a 10-7 lead in the third quarter, it marked just the second time this season the Badgers had trailed in the second half of a game (also vs. Northwestern). UW trailed for 3:05 before taking a 14-10 lead and has now trailed for a TOTAL of just 8:49 in the second half this season.

·UW outscored Michigan, 14-3 in the second half and didn’t allow a fourth-quarter point. On the season, the Badgers have outscored their opponents 209-58 in the second half and 108-21 in the fourth quarter.

·The Badgers limited Michigan to just 58 yards rushing. That is the Wolverines lowest rushing total this season (previous low was 102 vs. Michigan State). Michigan entered the game averaging 188.9 rushing yards per game.
UW has held 7 of its 11 opponents under 100 yards rushing this season.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

·Sophomore QB Alex Hornibrook threw for 143 yards on 9-for-19 passing with 1 touchdown.

·Hornibrook now has 2,006 yards passing this season, becoming the 10th player in school history to surpass 2,000 yards.

·Hornibrook threw his 18th touchdown pass of the season to move into sole possession of 6th place on UW’s single-season TD passes list.

·Freshman RB Jonathan Taylor carried 19 times for 132 yards, his 8th 100-yard rushing performance in 11 career games. Taylor recorded his fourth 50-yard run of the season on a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter.

·Taylor’s 132 yards rushing are the most by any player against Michigan this season.

·Taylor now has 1,657 rushing yards this season, moving past Herschel Walker for 8th on the NCAA’s all-time freshman rushing list.
He is also now 7th on UW’s overall single-season rushing list.

·Redshirt freshman WR Kendric Pryor scored on a 32-yard TD run in the third quarter, his second-consecutive game with a rushing TD.

·Sophomore WR A.J. Taylor made 3 receptions for a career-high 79 yards. Taylor hauled in his 4th career touchdown catch, on a 24-yard pass from Alex Hornibrook in the third quarter, 3 plays after snagging a career-long 51-yard pass from Hornibrook.

·Senior OLB Leon Jacobs started at outside linebacker, extending his school record by playing in the 56th game of his career.

·Junior ILB T.J. Edwards led UW with 11 tackles, including a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss.

·Senior OLB Garrett Dooley notched a sack, giving him a team-high 7.5 for the season.

·Junior ILB Ryan Connelly finished with 10 tackles, coming up one shy of matching his career high. He also tallied 1.5 tackles for loss, giving him 7.0 for the season.

·Junior CB Nick Nelson tallied 2 pass breakups, giving him a UW single-season record 20 on the season, breaking the previous mark of 19 set by Mike Echols in 2000.

·Nelson’s 20 total passes defended rank as the 4th-most in a single season in school history, trailing only Mike Echols (25, 2000), Jim Leonhard (25, 2002) and Jamar Fletcher (21, 2000).

·Nelson scored the first punt return touchdown of his career on a 50-yard return in the first quarter. It was the Badgers’ first punt return TD since Kenzel Doe ran back an 82-yard return vs. Utah State on Sept. 15, 2012.

·Junior K Rafael Gaglianone hit a 30-yard field goal and is now 11-for-13 on field goals this season. Gaglianone has converted 20 of his last 23 attempts, dating back to the 2015 Holiday Bowl.
