Chryst is good at winning games he should win. Maybe that’s because he actually knows what he’s doing! Some of you need to chill!
I don’t see us as top 5 right now, but that’s because we haven’t had to play like a top 5 team to win. And that’s ok.
1. People are upset that we didn’t blow out Illinois by more. Ok, what would you have done different? We could have thrown the ball around and gone for deep passes etc. but why?
The smart play is to continue to run the ball and run out the clock. Does everyone realize that teams are selling out to stop the run? If we all use actual logic, we will see that this is likely the reason we aren’t blowing teams out. We don’t have to.
The only way we blow out Illinois is if they absolutely cannot stop any of our running plays, even though they are stacking the box. If we are winning against a bad team we are going to run run run. Keep the clock moving and trust our defense.
Would you rather we open up the play book and throw the ball around and try and impress someone? Why take a chance?
Although it’s boring, chryst did what he should have done and protected the win by running the clock. Check the time of possession.
Our defense is legit, the other team can’t out score us if they don’t have time to out score us. Our D can play with anyone
Teams that throw the ball around against inferior teams eventually get knocked off. Clemson? TCU?
Are we ever in danger of losing? NW was fairly close, but they are really good against the run. They just beat #16 MSU.
Oh, and we were playing our third string RB for the majority of the game.
Against Iowa and Michigan we will have to open it up a little bit more, but as far as up to this point, chryst played the game how he should have. Get up and run out the clock, don’t risk it by getting fancy.
