Looked good tonight. Glad to see him stick it out over the years. I always thought he could be a good back and if healthy likely the 2nd best back on the team this year. Thought he's showed flashes on limited time on the field over the years. He was a very good recruit, unfortunately injuries derailed his first few years here. He should gain more confidence along with experience as season goes on and get better.

Few other things:
A lot to like about Nelson at safety. He's going to be a good one.

JT needs to continue to work on ball security. Some nice runs, but often times bottled up.

OL needs to play better. Thinking back, Noticed CVL in a lot, is LT now his?

Offense misses QC and DD. Hopefully Davis back will prevent defenses from loading up and blitzing.

Ferguson... good showing, caught a few nice blocks that he threw in addition to a nice night receiving. Wish he went up more for the target he had in endzone. Another one that's going to be good.

Defense.... work in progress, was underwhelmed. They didn't seem nearly as physical as in years past. Sloppy tackling numerous times especially by CBs. Their coverage seemed just ok, worried against teams with bigger and faster WRs. LBs just mediocre. Van Ginkel quiet, Baun seemed solid but not flashy. Need more production from the edge. Loudermilk back should help. Hope Connelly isn't hurt. Either way i think the offense will need to be really good this year to pick up the defense.

special teams - solid. Cruickshank looked electrifying on his one return. Perhaps put him back there full time over Pryor, no need to risk injury to Pryor returning kicks. He also had a chance late on a deep ball. Beat his guy but appeared to be interfered with that went uncalled. He might be a nice weapon for the offense as season goes and have some explosive plays on ST and O.
