FSU lost their starting QB for the year in their 1st game against Bama. He took a sack in the 4th quarter that caused the knee injury.

I can understand why teams play podunk opponents before their conference schedule. The starters would be watching the back ups play by the 4th quarter and you minimize wear and tear for the next game.
