Here's what I'm hearing on Pennamon. I'll start by saying that none of this is 100 percent confirmed just yet, but I'm being told Pennamon was not at Rutgers this weekend. However, their coaching staff believes he'll take an official visit there this weekend, the final one before Signing Day.
From the start, I was told that academics were in question with Pennamon; not implying he's a bad student, but we've all seen the challenges getting into Wisconsin can present. From what I can gather, Pennamon is probably doing the smart thing by keeping another option open late in the process if something were to happen on that front.
Now, if Pennamon ended up a Rutgers, would that open up another spot in this class? That's tough to say, because I have to believe the staff knew this could go either way since the fall. Adding Carriere-Williams and Caesar Williams would probably be enough in this class even though the numbers are pretty thin at corner. Now if this miss on Pennamon and C. Williams, that could be a real problem.
I'll post any other updates in here when they come my way.
