In my opinion Gard isnt that bad at recruiting. we are getting some solid players. WIsconsins future is bright and we will make the touney every year etc. etc.
The issue is that we know now what it takes to get to the next level. And that is NBA type talent.
We get to the final 4 a couple years in a row, should have won the national title. we used solid badger style play and player development. But look who we had... the national player of the year! also, sam dekker, a 5 star recruit.
thats the difference between solid badger bball and final 4s.

of course kaminsky was kind of a fluke, guys like that who develop and become the best in the country arent going to come along maybe ever again.

so no, im not jumping off a ledge.. but we expect more now. we have seen what it takes to be a national power... it takes solid coaching and a great tradition and program, which we have, but also it takes great players.
losing guys like Herro and other big time recruits is a killer for our hopes of reaching a final 4 any time soon.
