Tony Bennett and UVA signed a contract extension back on May 1. There was no comment from either party publicly, so word just started to leak of it this afternoon.
The contract is a 6-year deal with an auto 1-year extension after the first three years. It pays him $2.1 million per year.
The big kicker is that Bennett's $1.4 million buyout from his old contract has now been bumped up to $3 million, which is more than Bo Ryan and Greg Gard made combined last season.
