With D.J. Gillins now taking reps at WR for the rest of the season -- which I could see being a permanent move unless he elects to transfer -- I reached out to someone who said "it's a possibility" Wisconsin takes two QBs in the current class. With Kare' Lyles in the mix, the next logical target, if they elect to go that route, would be Nathan Stanley, the in-stater from Menomonie.
With Stanley, he's teammates with Mason Stokke, who is already committed to the Badgers. And one of the first moves Chryst made when he was hired was to reach out to Stanley and let him know that he had an offer from the Badgers.
I've been told that Stanley is very solid to Iowa. So even if UW turned things up in the process with him, it would be difficult to sway him away from the Hawkeyes.
Again, nothing certain yet, but the staff hasn't ruled out the idea of taking one more in this class. If they don't and Gillins stays at WR, they would have just three scholarship QBs in spring and fall camp -- Lyles (will enroll early), Hornibrook and Houston.
