I know a bit off topic, but UW women got off to a great start by beating Louisville & UNC in straight sets. UNC is ranked #11 in the country with two front line players of 6"7". Wisconsin's middle duo got the best of the Carolina defense, as 6-foot-8 freshman Dana Rettke hit .778 (2nd highest ever since program started) with 15 kills and five blocks, while junior Tionna Williams hit .643 with 10 slams. Freshman setter Sydney Hilley put on a strong all-around performance, posting her first career double-double with 43 assists, 11 digs, four kills and two aces. Hitting .400 is the highest UW has ever had over a season done in 2016 by Haleigh Nelson. This performance was done without the two top players of Haggerty (back) and Gillins (foot). This freshman class is loaded and it should be fun to see where this season goes.
