I was home today taking care of the wife so I was able to have ESPN U all day. Some things I took away from it. WI football is nothing on the national scene. We are nothing more then a Stanford or Arizona or Vandy. We have no national swag. It was starting to happen towards the end of BB era. He was on the draft and was beginning to become a bit of a figure. The only press given to us today was a 3-4 min spot with PC who in my opinion did not come off well. It's not that he was horrible there is just no personality. Now I know it's not like we are demanding the attention we are not setting the espn world on fire with what the program is doing. I I know the attention is earned not given. I am not sure why I'm on this tangent I think I am just at the realization we are never going to be a USC or even a Clemson. We will be a nice little program that every once in a while if everthing is perfect will make a run. I know there are a ton of programs out there that would like to be like ours so don't take this like I am not happy with who we are I just would like to have more. We make the money but it seems like BA is just content with what we have done and almost scared to take the next step. We have the $ to attract and pay the best assistants. We just upgraded our facilities to help compete and we are putting kids in the league every year. Some posted earlier we develop our recruits along the best in the country. But like someone else said how good could we be if we developed 4 star players vs 2-3 star players. Although I am not TOTTALLY sold on the star system or recruiting rankings there is something to it. The last 5 national champs have never been lower then 5th in recruiting class. Look at a school like Tennessee I see us generate just as much money as them but this year they have the 5th rated class and we are in the 30's. Tennessee has been a dumpster fire for a decade. Should we have gone after Dave Doren? NC St is a top 20 class this year. Really NC state can pull a better class than us? Really?
