After watching Alex Fenton on Thursday night, I feel pretty good about his current ranking. The 6-foot-5, 282-pound senior played both tackle spots against Greendale and struggled at times in pass protection against quicker defensive linemen. At this point, Fenton is a bit more advanced in run blocking and does a pretty good job of getting to the next level, but failed to engage consistently with linebackers and defensive backs. This is his first year playing offensive line, so he has some things to clean up as far as footwork, technique, etc.

Fenton also played tackle and end for Menomonie on defense, where I actually thought he was a bit more effective. He appears to be a pretty good athlete and moves very well for his size. Fenton was good at the point of attack and was able to get into the backfield on a number of plays.

There's a long way to go, but I think Fenton is a lock to redshirt during his first year at Wisconsin. I project him as a guard whose frame will allow him to play at 310 or 315 pounds early in his career. I think he's further behind the other linemen in this class: Lyles, Vopal, Beach and Bruss.
