I was reading through one of the Michigan message boards after the game and there were several comments about being jealous of our success with the guys we have. He was referring to the fact that their guys had more recruiting stars coming out of high school than our guys.
I have been around athletics my entire life and each year it becomes more apparent that winning is about CULTURE. There is a winning culture at Wisconsin that transcends current players and even coaches. Culture, both winning and losing, is passed down from within and this explains Wisconsin's success over the last 15+ years. Culture is about teaching the same things over and over and being true to it.
To prove my point, look at schools without that culture...Minnesota hoops. Every year they go through the same crap and they think its about the players or coach that year. It isn't.
Last season was a testament to the strength of culture. This year is too, just in a different way.
