Badgers add walk-on for 2015-16
Waunakee native Will Decorah joins the Wisconsin roster
MADISON, Wis.– Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan announced on Thursday that junior Will Decorah has been added to the team roster as a walk-on and will immediately begin practice for the 2015-16 season. A native of Waunakee, Decorah has served as a manager for the men’s basketball team over the past two seasons.
Will Decorah (6-4, 205, Waunakee High School)
Decorah enjoyed a standout prep career at Waunakee High School in both basketball and football. He was a three-year letterwinner on the court, helping the Warriors to the Badger Conference championship all three seasons. As a senior, the two-time All-Conference selection averaged 16 points per game. On the football field, Decorah was a member of two state championship teams playing quarterback and defensive end. During his senior season, Decorah broke the school single-season record with 2,166 passing yards and was named first-team All-Conference.
Decorah’s father, Tim, played for Ryan at UW-Platteville and was a member of the Pioneers’ first national championship team in 1991. His sister, Emily, played basketball at UW-Milwaukee from 2011-14 where she broke the Horizon League single-season record with 95 3-pointers during her junior season. Decorah is majoring in economics.
