Was re-watching the Minnesota game for 2019 last night. Gophers crowded the line and bottle up Taylor pretty well(76 yards rushing). After the first quarter offense shifted to the type of offense I expect to see this year. By the middle of the 3rd quarter rush and passes evenly split 18 apiece. They threw more on first down slants, outs, vertical routes( back shoulder on the outside,and beautiful isolation on LB for touchdown wo Cephus for TD., outside screen(tb), Flat routes (FB),inside screens(TE). Rushing they supplemented the power run with more Jet sweeps, Reverses, and unsuccessful wildcat read option.
Without a superstar TB, I see the offense being more multiple. While Mertz is inexperienced he has the arm and talent to make throw accurately to the 2nd and 3rd level and make team pay for packing the line. Should be fun to watch.
