Per a release from UW today:

MADISON, Wis. – Adjustments to roles and areas of oversight among the University of Wisconsin athletics senior staff are being made, University of Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez announced.

The changes are effective immediately.

“It is important for us to continue to evaluate ourselves and make adjustments and evolve where necessary,” Alvarez said. “I am always looking to put people into positions and give them responsibilities that are in the best interests of the department. We are fortunate here to have a lot of staff who are very experienced and committed to seeing our student-athletes succeed on and off the fields of play.”

Among the changes: Chris McIntosh, formerly the associate athletic director for business development, will assume the role of deputy athletic director. McIntosh will take over for former deputy Walter Dickey, who will remain with the department and resume oversight of areas he held previously, including compliance, government affairs and liaison for legal affairs, in addition to serving as a co-liaison to the Big Ten Conference and UW Athletic Board. McIntosh, a Badger football All-American and Outland Trophy finalist who started 50 straight games at left tackle in the late 1990s, went into private business following his NFL career in Seattle. He has been with the UW athletic department since 2014. He will have oversight of human resources, recruiting, business development, and strategic planning, while serving as co-liaison to the UW Athletic Board and Big Ten Conference.
