congrats to the former Badger on his contract extension with the New York Rangers..... 6 years for $39.5m ....he isn't a flashy scoring machine but he's one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL & a bonafide stud on the penalty kill ....btw he's a USA Olympian too

Bad news for the current Badgers as we lost our two best players (IMHO) to the NHL ....soph defenseman Jack Dougherty signed with the Nashville Predators....he was their 2nd round draft choice...... and bluechip goalie recruit Luke Opilka signed with the St Louis Blues before ever suiting up for Bucky....he was the Blues 5th round draft choice & was rated the best under 18 goalie in the United States.... this one was strange because he was attending summer school
