I was at the Edgewater last night for the Grid Iron meeting. They had the whole team (excluding true Freshmen) walk across the stage and introduce themselves. Each table had 2 players sit and dine with them. I had a chance to talk exclusively with David Moorman, Michah Kapai, and Chris James. (James is beyond 'jacked' and Michah is noticeably lighter). Overall was super impressed with the quality of young men we have on the team. Some random takeaways:
Barry is looking old and was limping around (knee brace on)
CPC was really good (he was sitting down with Mike Lucas in a back and forth question and answer type setting. (he barely mentioned the Q situation)
Moorman and Kapai love Joe R. They think he is incredibly smart and a great guy.
Bob Bostad coaches the OL when it is young guys vs. young guys. (they said you could tell OL is where his heart is.
Matt Henningsen is currently better than Vopal.
They really like all the coaches. You can just feel the 'team and family' type atmosphere.
It was fun to get recruiting tib bits and answers regarding MSU, Michigan and Pitt
Chris MacIntosh is smaller and more nerdy than I thought
I couldn't be more impressed with the handful of players I spoke with
