I'm not making any assertions one way or another. But when Minnesota fired Glen Mason after the 2006 season, they brought in some guy who was going to recruit them to the top. It took them darn near forever to get back to where they were when Mase left.
I won't even get into the Charley Weis debacle other than to point out that he wasn't the offensive genius that the hype machine proclaimed him to be.
