Traevon Jackson returned to practice today for the first time since his injury. The Badgers simply went through individual and shooting drills, but still it was nice to see Traevon out there. He said there's about a 50/50 chance he plays on Friday, and that the decision is completely up to him. He has been medically cleared.

He also said he feels about 90 percent right now, and that he won't come back until he is feeling 100 percent because he doesn't want to hurt the team.

In my time covering Jackson I've always thought of him as one of the fiercest competitors there is, which is why the quote below (and in the link) took me back a little. He was asked if he thought about the possibility of him not playing again. He replied that it was something he thought about last weekend a lot.

"I've come to grips with that. I'll be okay if I didn't play the rest of the season, honestly. It's not really that big of a deal to me to where it's like I have to play. I want to be 100 percent to help the team out. I don't want to be a burden to the team, or to be a negative impact. When I come back, I'll be 100 percent. I've accepted the fact that it doesn't matter in terms of oh I have to be here. I'm okay with that."

"It was okay. It was never in my mind that I don't hope (to play) anymore - I would love to play; of course I would. But it's not like it's going to be a detriment to go out there and force myself."

Maybe it just shows his competitive spirit in that he wants to be the best and won't settle for anything less out of himself. I'm not sure. Interesting nonetheless....
