A few rumors out there (started by Adam Rittenberg) that Lovie is miserable in Illinois and could possibly bolt after the year. Illinois is at rock bottom so they can't get much worse but wow would that be demoralizing for their fan base.
Lovie denies the rumor but every interview I have seen him give when recruiting is brought up he always talks about how its an every day thing. Really seems to have surprised him coming back to the college game and all the effort required to recruit top athletes. He also was shocked at the limited number of coaches that are allowed at the collegiate level compared to the NFL given that there are almost double the number of players.
One thing I've been surprised by with his teams is how poorly his defense has played. Now he took the job in March so I will cut him some slack but his defense looks poorly coached.
