MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin senior guard Walt McGrory underwent successful hip surgery and will be out for an indefinite period of time, as announced by the UW Sports Medicine staff on Tuesday.
McGrory has played in 36 career games for the Badgers, including 14 contests last season. The Minneapolis, Minnesota native had a career day against McNesese State last year, playing a career high 24 minutes and finishing with 9 points, two assists and two rebounds in the win.
A two-time Academic All-Big Ten student, McGrory finished his prep career as Edina High School’s all-time leading scorer with 2,126 career points, averaging 26.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game as a senior.
