Leaving with my son this Friday for Phoenix to get some sun. We couldn't make it work leaving early and catching the game in Denver.
My question is...staying in Mesa with a good family friend... He suggested maybe a trip to the Grand Canyon for me and my son? I've got a convertible rented so it would be a fun drive. Nothing but sun and warm weather in the forecast from March 21-26th. But it's a 3 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix to the South Rim and if I go that far I feel like we should do a helicopter tour?
My buddy who graduated from ASU said if I don't want to drive all that way I could take a road trip to Sedona with him because that's a cool town too and only 2 1/2 hours away, but if I'm only an hour away, shouldn't I just drive the rest of the way and do a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon with him?
This is my only predicament of this trip. Swimming in the pool at the house and watching basketball, Brewer's last home spring training game on Sunday. Top Golf for a few hours one night. Dune Buggy desert trip one of the other days...
Just go to Sedona and it will be fun or go to the South Rim and take the Heli? 🤣 ANYONE EVER DONE? All recommendations welcomed.

No idea what to do in Sedona but the quick searches I've done seems like I could keep an 8 year old boy engaged throughout the day there.
