Basically you can sub Penn State in for Wisconsin and vice versa throughout - they have very similar paths to either the playoff or other bowl sites.
In the end the Badgers definitely seem to need help to make the playoff, but a Rose Bowl bid would be assured if they win the title game and miss out on the playoff. Failing that it's probably the Cotton Bowl, or barring something crazy possibly the Orange Bowl.
